Many thanks to all the musicians, sponsors, donors, committee members and audience members who helped this special event happen! On September 26, 2010, twenty one musicians and 100 audience members joined together for a grand “Opera Harvest” gala concert, silent auction and wine reception event held at the beautiful Hamilton-Wenham Community House to raise funds for Boston Singers’ Resource and The Boston Singers' Relief Fund. The auction featured over 50 items (auction item list) and the reception featured delicious food and wine by Derek Ellerkamp of Georgetown, Hopkins Catering of Essex, Periwinkles Catering of Essex and Beverly and Andy Soll of Salem. The concert featured arias and duets performed by Ethan Bremner, Christina English, Margaret Felice, Dan Kamalic, Valerie Kraft, Michelle Vachon and John Whittlesey accompanied by members of the Hillyer Festival Orchestra, with special guest, Robert Honeysucker, baritone. About the Boston Singers’ Relief Fund: Founded in 2009 by Murray Kidd, the Boston Singers’ Relief Fund is a program of BSR which provides financial relief in a confidential, respectful manner to those in the singing community who have contributed significantly to the artistic life of New England and are facing job loss, illness or other catastrophic life events and who have insufficient resources with which to handle such situations. Supporters of the Boston Singers’ Relief Fund recognize the essential value of singers to society and culture and treat all applicants with dignity, discretion and compassion. More...
